The Story.
A fox once fell
into a well. He did not know how to come out. Suddenly, a goat peeped into the
well and said, “Hullo! Uncle, what are you doing here?” “The water, my nephew,
is so sweet,” replied the fox, “that! I cannot help coming here twice a day.”
The goat was
already feeling very thirsty. So it jumped into the well at once. And, the next
moment, the fox jumped out over its back. Now the goat understood for fox’s
trick and requested him to help it out. But he only laughed and ran away
saying, “You may go on bleating and enjoying the sweet water of this well. Your
master will soon come here to help you out.”
Moral. Look before you leap.
